TRIPHALA
is a cornerstone detoxifying & rejuvenating Ayurvedic remedy used for 1000's of years, consisting of a mix of Emblica officinalis (Amalaki), Terminalia bellerica (Bibhitaki), and Terminalia chebula (Haritaki) in equal parts.
Triphala encourages gentle, full elimination and overall health harmony, by pulling stagnant toxic residue from the digestive tract, increasing the intestinal absorption, and encouraging healthy flora growth... among many other protective and nutritive jobs. An article published by The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine explains, "a number of potential uses of Triphala, which include free radical scavenging, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulating, appetite stimulation, gastric hyperacidity reduction, dental caries prevention, antipyretic, analgesic, antibacterial, antimutagenic, wound healing, anticariogenic, antistress, adaptogenic, hypoglycemic, anticancer, hepatoprotective, chemoprotective, radioprotective, and chemopreventive effects. Triphala may also promote proper digestion and absorption of food, reduce serum cholesterol levels, improve circulation, relax bile ducts, prevent immunosenescence, maintain homeostasis of the endocrine system, and increase production of red blood cells and hemoglobin. Polyphenols in Triphala modulate the human gut microbiome and thereby promote the growth of beneficial Bifidobacteria and Lactobacillus while inhibiting the growth of undesirable gut microbes. The bioactivity of Triphala is elicited by gut microbiota to generate a variety of anti-inflammatory compounds (J Altern Complement Med. 2017 Aug 1; 23(8):607-614. Therapeutic Uses of Triphala in Ayurvedic Medicine by C. Peterson, PhD; K. Denniston, BS; and D. Chopra, MD; https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5567597)."
Note: Triphala is not habit forming and is considered a very safe herb, able to be used in smaller doses for children and the elderly, and safe for long term use. There are no known major drug interactions when used at the typical doses. Please consult with your Health Care Professional if you are taking medications that require specific levels to be maintained, such as blood thinners, seizure medications, and chemotherapy, since Triphala can increase the elimination of foreign chemicals from the body.
We offer only the finest quality, Fair-Trade, Organically-Grown Triphala Powder.
